Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact
The Women's Fund's Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact, or LIPPI, is a non-partisan initiative designed to address the need to provide women in our region with the training and support to become powerful and effective civic leaders. Started in 2010, LIPPI focuses on areas such as public speaking, effective negotiation, conflict management, board participation, the legislative process and policy-making, community organizing, fundraising and campaigning, municipal and nonprofit budgets, and running for office. LIPPI provides women with the tools, mentors, and confidence they need to become our region's community leaders and elected officials.
LIPPI trains women in the nuts and bolts of impacting policy from the citizen perspective. By helping women develop these two sets of skills—individual leadership development and policy change—we aim to advance social change for a more equitable and just society.

A Message to Last Year's LIPPI Cohort from Senator Warren
230 LIPPI Strong!
230 women have participated from the four counties of Western MA, representing all socio-economic backgrounds, ages and our region's major ethnic groups. Our participants range in age from 18 to 60+, with 40 percent representing minority groups. Some currently serve on school committees, city councils and town select boards, while others have never run for office before.
